Lost in Zhangjiajie - - a guy (dressed in black) in the lone otherwise empty house nearby offered to help us find the abandoned Yaozizhai trail. Couldn't help but think of Texas Chainsaw Massacre with this guy carrying a scythe and wearing black boots. As it turned out he was very helpful, clearing the way with his scythe and piggybacking me across one flooded crossing. Once we were on the abandoned trail, he went back. We carried on for another 3.5 km including crossing some broken wooden bridges. We were quite relieved to get back to the main populated trail.
